  • Co-Founded in 1997 by Judy Bretschneider, Robert Christian Leefeldt and Nancy Johnson
  • 200 historic dances from 30+ nations, reviving and preserving centuries-old dance traditions, contemporized for today's audiences
  • Three signature productions: Dancing Across Cultures™, Beyond the Land of Sweets and The Little Lantern® Ballet
  • Exceptional trove of costumes primarily designed by Mariinsky Theatre Atelier in St. Petersburg, Russia

  • In 2017, PDT was selected to open UNESCO’s International Dance Council’s 50th World Congress, in Athens, Greece, amongst 48 other nations. 
  • 99% of our DANCEOUT! graduates pursue a college education; 45% are the first in their families to attend a university; 6 are pursuing graduate degrees 
  • 80% of graduates receive scholarship opportunities for dance at various universities including Stanford, Columbia, NYU, Chapman and Duke. 
  • 10% of graduates are working artists. Recent alumni are working in international dance companies (Australian National Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance, Chicago), on Broadway (“Mean Girls” and “Finding Neverland”), and PDT’s adult company.
  • Many graduates remain active within our community. Four dance with our adult company, three volunteer as backstage crew, two are teaching assistants, and three from the first DANCEOUT! cohort (1999) are enrolled in graduate school programs in business, law and medicine, respectively.
